OUR SERVICES

ACCOUNTANCY & BOOKKEEPING

Experienced bookkeepers

Bookkeeping is time-consuming and monotonous, but unfortunately it’s a necessary evil. If you’d much rather be concentrating on other aspects of your business then let us take the bookkeeping off your hands.

You can simply keep hold of all your receipts, invoices and bank statements, hand them to us monthly, quarterly or yearly, and we’ll sort the rest, handing you back nicely organised records.

Keeping track of your business finances regularly like this can help you keep track of what you may need to pay to suppliers and what money you are still waiting on from debtors. We can then also use these records if we are completing any other services for you, such as year end accounts or VAT returns.

If you would prefer, we can use online accountancy software to manage your businesses finances, this further enables you to keep track of how your business is doing, generate invoices and more.

At Paul Clarke ABC Services we understand that bookkeeping can be a challenging and daunting task. You can rely on us to help you with all aspects of your bookkeeping. We can prepare financial reports such as year-end financial statements, cash flows, budgets and business plans. We also use the latest cloud technology such as Sage software to offer accurate and efficient bookkeeping solutions.

Our accountants can help you with:

  • Company formation

  • Business tax

  • Credit control

  • Corporation tax

  • Income tax

  • Management accounts

VAT MANAGEMENT

VAT management services

If you’re unsure as to whether your business needs to be VAT registered then we can help. If your turnover hits a certain threshold (currently £85,000) then becoming VAT registered is compulsory, however even if you are under the threshold it could be beneficial for your business to voluntarily register for VAT.

There are various schemes available, some which are dependant on your industry. In addition there are different rates of VAT alongside the standard rate of 20%, all of which means that navigating VAT can be a bit of a minefield. We can advise you on the best course of action for your business, register you for VAT and ensure you are on the appropriate scheme.

Once registered we can process your quarterly VAT returns and submit them to HMRC, we can even keep on top of your bookkeeping which helps both us and you keep on top of your business finances.

Value added tax is one of the most complex tax areas to be imposed on businesses. The VAT “goalposts” are constantly moved as well as the ever changing stream of regulatory details can be challenging to handle. We can help you with all aspects of your VAT management. We also offer a range of services including assistance with VAT registration, VAT planning, administration and VAT control. Speak to a member of our team now for more information.

You can rely on our team for:

  • Assistance with VAT registration

  • Advice on VAT planning and administration

  • VAT control and reconciliation

  • Help with completing VAT returns

  • Processes put in place to avoid future issues with HMRC

  • Representing you at VAT tribunals

SELF ASSESSMENT

If you are thinking of going self-employed then we are here to help!

Many taxpayers struggle to understand the complex tax returns and complete them correctly.

In the first year of the Self Assessment regime alone, 775,000 taxpayers received £100 penalties for failing to submit their returns on time, and some 400,000 incurred further penalties because their returns were still outstanding six months later!

The constant flow of changes to tax legislation means not only that the returns are becoming even more difficult to understand but also that taxpayers risk incurring more penalties through failing to complete their returns on time or correctly.

We can save you a lot of time, worry, and money by handling your self assessment tax return for you.

We will do all the necessary computations, complete your return, and even offer advice on how you can minimise your tax liability.

We can act as your agent, dealing directly with the HM Revenue and Customs on your behalf and, should you be selected for a self assessment enquiry, act for you at any meetings.

We can advise you on what steps to take, what you be will required to do as a sole trader and get you registered and up and running.

From there you will need to keep track of your income and expenses, whether it’s inputting it onto a spreadsheet, using online accountancy software or handing us your paperwork and letting us do the bookkeeping for you.

Then, as well as completing your tax return we can also draw up a set of year end accounts for you to help you keep track of how your business is doing.

The tax return form can be a little daunting, but we know the ins and outs of it and can make sure it’s filled in correctly and make sure that there are no nasty surprises coming your way!

However, even if you are not self-employed you may still need to submit a tax return, for example if you are a landlord or a director and a shareholder of a limited company.

If you do then we can take care of it for you. Give us a call and we’ll talk you through what records you will need to keep and what information we will need in order to submit your tax return.

Paul Clarke ABC Services understands that taxpayers find it hard to file tax returns and complete them correctly. You can rely on us to offer self-assessment tax return solutions.
